A FAST food takeaway in Barrow has been ordered to clean up its act by food hygiene inspectors after being handed a one-star rating out of five.
Dallas Chicken and Pizza, of 36 Cavendish Street, was given the assessment after council officers visited the establishment on February 8.
The rating means that inspectors judged that major improvement was necessary at the town centre takeaway.
Three areas were assessed by inspectors – ‘cleanliness and condition of facilities and building' was deemed 'generally satisfactory'.
But officials judged that improvement was necessary in 'hygienic food handling', and furthermore, 'management of food safety' had a 'major improvement necessary' requirement attached.
