BARROW AFC's playoff-chasing rivals Sutton United and Mansfield Town are in action tonight.

Bluebirds fans will be monitoring the full-time results from the latest round of midweek games this evening as the race for the playoffs enters a decisive period with just 11 games to go in the 2022/23 season.

After last weekend's goalless draw with Sutton United at the SO Legal Stadium, the Bluebirds remain four points adrift of the playoff places in 10th place.

However, fellow playoff hopefuls, 9th-placed Sutton United and 8th-placed Mansfield Town, who are both one point adrift of the playoff places, are in midweek action tonight.

Mansfield Town play the first of their three games in hand tonight when they travel to Sixfields to take on automatic promotion-chasing Northampton Town who are seeking to close the gap on Barrow's Cumbrian rivals Carlisle United.

Sutton United on the other hand look to get back to winning ways after being held to a goalless draw by the Bluebirds last time out in League Two.

Matt Gray's Us welcome 16th-placed Grimsby Town, who have only won one of their last five,  to the VBS Community Stadium.

Results in favour of the Bluebirds tonight would keep the playoff dream alive, especially given the fact that Mansfield and Sutton United still have to play one another.

Looking over the shoulder, 12th-placed Swindon Town, who are only three points behind the Bluebirds with two games in hand are also in action tonight and look to bounce back from their late defeat at the hands of Paul Simpson's Carlisle United at the weekend.

The Robins travel to the Poundland Bescot Stadium to take on Michael Flynn's Walsall.
