TRIBUTES have been paid following the death of a woman in Ulverston which has sparked a murder probe.

Police were contacted shortly before 1.30am today (February 20) after a woman was found unconscious in the street in the area of County Square.

The woman, aged in her 20s, was subsequently declared dead.

A 40-year-old woman and two men aged 28 and 61 have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in police custody.

A cordon remains in place as officers continue their enquiries into this incident. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area.

Tributes have been paid to the woman by readers following her sudden death this morning.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what occurred or the moments leading up to it, as well as anyone else with information which may assist detectives.
