THE launch of a new 'chatbot' has revolutionised the way in which the public can interact with artificial intelligence (AI) in our day-to-day lives.
ChatbotGPT is an AI technology service launched by OpenAI in November 2022, which has the ability to generate human-like text based on user input.
The application does this by using data and information on the internet in a way that is far more advanced, and 'human-like' than anything previously seen.

Backed by Microsoft, it gained over a million users in its first week, and as of January 2023, it had crossed the 100-million user milestone.
The technology has been used to generate business plans, articles, answers to complex questions, and even poems.
Users simply type in a request, and the text is generated in seconds.
To test it out, we simply typed "Write a poem about Barrow in Cumbria", and ChatGPT had penned its ode within 30 seconds.
Here it is:
In Cumbria's west, on the coast so grand,
Lies a town of industry, built by hand,
Its name is Barrow-in-Furness, proud and true,
Where the sea meets the land, a sight to view
From its shipyards and docks to its rolling hills,
Barrow-in-Furness is a town that fills,
With the roar of engines and the clang of steel,
Where the hardworking people make their deal
On Walney Island, the wind blows free,
And the sands stretch far, to the edge of the sea,
The lighthouse stands tall, guiding ships in sight,
In Barrow-in-Furness, a town of might
With a history rich in iron and steel,
And tales of men who made their fortune's deal,
Barrow-in-Furness stands proud and strong,
A town where resilience sings its song
So if you travel to the north-west coast,
Make sure to stop and see what Barrow-in-Furness boasts,
For in this town, there's so much to explore,
From the sea to the hills, a place to adore.
