IN conjunction with the HSBC, the Cumbria Police Economic Crime Unit organised an event at their branch in Duke Street, Barrow, to raise awareness of all types of banking fraud.
PCSO Sam Thomas joined the HSBC staff.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Sadly, we see all too many members of the public fall foul of this, particularly the elderly, and this can have a traumatic effect on its victims.
“PCSO Sam Thomas was on hand with HSBC staff to hand out leaflets and give advice on keeping safe from financial crime. It was a very well attended event and something we will do again to keep everyone aware.
“Please contact Police on 101, or you can contact Action Fraud direct on 0300 123 2040, if you think you have been a victim of any form of fraud.”
