A WOMAN in her nineties was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the main road into Barrow.

Police were called at 2:41pm today (Feb 9) to the report of a two vehicle road traffic collision on Park Road, Barrow.

The collision involved a Citroen C1 and Nissan Qashqai.

The driver of the Nissan a woman in her 60s was taken to Furness General Hospital with minor injuries.

A passenger in the vehicle a woman in her 90s was taken to Preston Hospital via air ambulance with serious injuries. Another passenger a male in his 90s was taken to Furness General Hospital with chest injuries.

The driver of the Citroen was uninjured.
