THE Dock Museum has extended its 'Minnie's Scrapbook' exhibition until Sunday, February 26.

The exhibition is dedicated to a previously unknown artist who lived in Ulverston until her death in 1980.

Her scrapbook was found at an auction sale in Carlisle by Gary Johnston.

When he opened the book, he found detailed paintings of places across the world, from the Lake District to Uganda and France. Through a popular group on Facebook, he managed to piece together the life of the artist.

Gary handed the book over to the Dock Museum in July of last year. The museum created an exhibition dedicated to her life, the art found within the scrapbook, and the secrets that Gary discovered through his research.

The exhibition started on November 4 2022 and was planned to last for three months until February 17.

Gary has also published a book called 'Minnie's Scrapbook: A journey in the footsteps of Minnie Pratt.'
