THE headteacher of Barrow's biggest school said tomorrow's strike action will be a 'normal day' for most pupils.
Furness Academy is remaining open tomorrow as members of the National Education Union walk out in a dispute over pay.
In a letter to parents, headteacher Simon Laheny said: "We do have some teachers who are members of the National Education Union (NEU) who will be striking tomorrow but, on this occasion, we are able to remain open.
"Whilst it will largely be a normal day for the majority of students in school, some will be affected if their teachers are absent and so we have adapted the day to accommodate this.
"As you will be aware, the NEU is taking industrial action due to the challenges facing the profession at present and the other teacher unions have also balloted their members and there is likely to be further industrial action from them in the future."
He said was unable to guarantee the school would be open on the proposed dates for strike action - February 28, March 15 and March 16.
