ULVERSTON Victoria High School’s Music Department is delighted to be hosting the Band of His Majesty’s Royal Marines for a joint concert with UVHS Wind Band at the Coro.
As part of the Marines’ visit there will be a careers presentation directed at anyone with an interest in a musical career in the armed forces – this will include, amongst other things, what to expect as a musician in the army, navy and RAF on a day-to-day work basis, application requirements, what is involved in basic training, travel opportunities around the world and details about pay and promotion.
The presentation will begin at 12.30pm on Saturday February 4 in the supper room at the Coro and last up to 45 minutes.
There are still a few tickets available for the evening concert, starting at 7.30pm which will feature both the marines and UVHS Bands perform a set each before a spectacular massed band finale, not forgetting the world-renowned Corps of Drums performing several displays.
Tickets are available via the Coro’s website www.thecoro.co.uk/whats-on
