Holker Old Boys' Wembley dreams were shattered on Wednesday night as they were outclassed by Bury AFC in what was a historic cup tie for the club.
Holker, an amateur club from Barrow who play in North West Counties League Division One, travelled to the Anchor Ground, home of Darwen FC, on a freezing night.
This was the first time they had reached the fourth round of the FA Vase in their history and were only four games from Wembley.
They came up against a Bury side who were too good on the night losing 4-0 and coach Dave Round said he was disappointed in his team's performance.
He said: "I thought Bury were very good but we gifted them three goals today, and that's not normally like us.
"They had four really good lads up top and they controlled the game today.
"But, it's been a good run, fair play to Bury – they're a very good side, and I hope they go on and do well."
