A TOWN centre pub has closed its doors to return bigger and better for 2023.

Bosses behind The Mill in Ulverston have announced a two-week closure to allow staff a much-needed break after the Christmas period.

The bar will be back open on Monday January 16 and the kitchen will return on January 18 with new food ideas, new bar offerings and food deals to help people's purses in 2023.

Bosses said there will be more details on these soon.

Other venues in the Lancaster Brewery family will also take a short winter break (The Tite & Locke and Lancaster Tap & Still), but the Duke of Edinburgh and Sun Hotel will be open right through January.

A spokesman for The Mill said: "2022 was a real roller coaster in a post Covid world, but our busiest year ever for our chefs and food offering. We will be back bigger, better and more creative than ever in 2023."
