How much has Barrow changed over the last ten years?

We've taken a trip down memory lane using pictures from Google Street views from yesteryear and the present day.

This picture shows an area of North Road in 2009 before it became the home of a popular eatery.

Here is the same site pictured in May 2022. It is now home to family pub and restaurant chain Brewers Fayre.

Cut to the present day, and the site is undergoing an expansion, as can be seen in this picture from May 2022.

In 2018, a former police station was demolished to make way for a 127-bedroom hotel.

It was the home of Barrow Police for decades after being built in 1958.

The 127-bedroom Holiday Inn Express hotel began to welcome guests in December 2019.

This picture was taken in 2022.

In 2017, this picture was taken of a section of Portland Walk in Barrow's town centre.

In the picture we can see Debenhams, Topshop and Officers Club - with River Island just out of shot.
