AN HISTORIC castle has made a new year’s resolution to attract more American visitors.

The 'Premium Heritage Experience' at Muncaster Castle will include a candlelit dinner in the Grand Dining Room which is over 800 years old.

The experience will be offering a taste of what it was like to dine like a Lord and Lady in the historic building.

The dinner will be hosted by the Pennington family who have lived in the castle for generations.

It is a three-day experience designed to attract international groups of tourists and give them a quintessentially English experience.

Ewan Frost-Pennington said: "This new plan will allow them to enjoy a far more personal experience. They have always loved England's rich history and now they will get a chance to fully experience life as a Lord and Lady in a typically English castle."

The three-day Premium Heritage Experience will let visitors experience a hostes tour and the lakes and mountains.
