ONCE again, the Lakeland Motor Museum is putting on a classic car competition for Boxing Day.

Last year, around 150 private cars gathered in Backbarrow to be judged, and for the public to enjoy. The competition is open to owners of classic cars, trucks, vans and motorbikes, and more recent hot hatches, superminis and high-performance sports cars.

In 2021, the winner was 26-year-old Kieran Hall from Ulverston, who won with a 1969 Land Rover converted into a fire engine.

Previous winners include a 1980 Ford Escort RS2000 Custom and an American 1939 Ford 85 Bullnose truck.

There is no need to book, and there is plenty of free parking for owners to display their pride and joy. Participating drivers and their passengers will also receive vouchers for discount admission to the museum itself.
