THE Lancashire and South Cumbria Foundation NHS Trust (LSDft) has appointed a new Director of Nursing and Quality for The Bay.

Oliver Soriano joined the Trust on December 1 and brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge from his previous roles within South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust where he was based for over 18 years.

He leaves behind his position as Associate Chief Nursing Officer to take over from Anthony Davison as the New Director of Nursing and Quality for The Bay.

Oliver joined the NHS when he relocated to London from the Philippines in 1998, and has worked in a variety of different roles across his long NHS career, but has always carried a huge passion for older adult care.

Oliver is President of the Philippine Nurses Association UK, a role which allows him to offer support, work collaboratively and share his enthusiasm for the recruitment of international nurses to the UK, offering support during their recruitment and promoting retention.

On joining LSCft Oliver said:

"I'm so excited to be working with the Trust, I'm thrilled to have joined such a friendly, supportive and forward thinking team and I can’t wait to get started."
