PLANS have been put forward to create eight apartments at a hotel and restaurant.
A proposal has been submitted to create new apartments at the Fishermans Arms near Ulverston.
The hotel, located in the Coast Road near Baycliff, is seeking outline planning permission for alterations to the internal arrangement of the building to create eight apartments while retaining a restaurant and bar.
The plans, submitted by Mr Ian Kelly, propose building a one-story extension to the rear of the building and demolishing an existing detached outbuilding.
Aside from the extension, there is no proposal to alter the form of the existing hotel building, the plans state.
The application form states that the development will include the refurbishment of the existing building facades including the roof, bringing elements in line with current building standards.
Alterations will also be made to hard surfacing, the application reads, to create sufficient parking provision.
The hotel and restaurant currently has 20 parking spaces which the applicant hopes to increase by four.
