A FLOWER wall displaying hundreds of poppies to honour the lives of fallen servicemen and women has been unveiled.

Millom Town Council has thanked members of the public who contributed to the town's poppy wall in Market Square.

The display is part of commemorations for Remembrance Sunday which is due to take place on Sunday November 13.

Remembrance Sunday is a national opportunity to remember the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.

A council spokesman said: "Millom Town Council would like to thank everyone who have contributed and donated to the poppy wall in the Market Square, you have all done the town proud.

"We would also like to thank Westlakes Electrical for their hard work in not so good weather putting the display up. Thank you all again."
