A STALL-HOLDER is shutting up shop in Barrow Market after a ‘roller coaster’ few months.

More Glitter Dear will close for the final time on Saturday in Barrow’s Market Hall after ten months in the town centre.

Josie Rogan has run More Glitter Dear for the past two years after launching the business online in 2020.

The business owner, who lives in Barrow, opened a stall in Ulverston Market in May 2021 and decided to move into Barrow Market in January 2022.

The stall sells an array of vintage finds including handmade jewellery, retro style ware, cards from the 70s, Kitsch collectables, accessories, handmade lampshades and more.

In a post shared online, Josie revealed she would be closing the stall due to both financial and personal reasons.

She said: “It’s been an absolute rollercoaster for me the past couple of months and with huge changes in my personal life… I cannot continue with the stall, financially, physically and all the ways.

“I’ve absolutely loved being at both my locations in the market, and have been made to feel so welcome and met some amazing friends who I will really miss.

“Please don’t fret for me, More Glitter Dear isn’t going away for good, I will be able to concentrate on my own art work and my website, also I will be trading at pop-ups and fairs including The Dickensian Festival next month and The Coro Christmas market in December.

“I have lots of exciting plans for More Glitter Dear in 2023 so please stay with me as the only thing changing is there will be no permanent stall.

“Sometimes you need to do what you have to, and thank you so much to all my Barrow customers this year, you’ve been ace and I appreciate you all.”

A spokesman for Barrow Market Hall said: “We’re going to miss you Josie and your beautiful, bright orange trademark stall. You’re going to be missed. We’d like to wish you continued success in your new business venture at home. Take care of yourself.”
