POST office workers across the region will go on strike again next month.

The Communication Workers Union (CWU), which represents Royal Mail workers, announced that it would have further strike action despite holding talks through Acas, which mediates between unions and government bodies.

There will be strikes on November 12 and November 14. The union said: "Although talks are continuing at Acas, we need to put further pressure on Royal Mail in order to make progress."

The workers last went on strike on October 25. Workers at the Barrow, Ulverston, Kendal and Grange delivery offices formed a picket line for the day.

There were further stoppages in September, with staff striking on Abbey Road. The union said more than 100,000 workers were involved.
