FOR the Hairy Bikers, there’s nothing like baking for filling a place with love and that homely feeling, and that is the joy they want to spread with their brand-new book.

The Hairy Bikers’ new book Brilliant Bakes is now available to purchase.

It includes the ‘ultimate collection’ of bakes from Barrovian Dave Myers and Si King, from ‘home-made beef slices to cheese, onion and potato pie, lime and coconut drizzle cake to billionaires’ shortbread, the ultimate Victoria sponge to an epic cheese and chorizo share and tear bread’.

The recipes are classic bakes that the Bikers have loved since childhood, along with some new creations.

The Bikers said: “For us, nothing says love and home like the smell of a cake in the oven, a homemade loaf or a freshly baked pie so we’ve created the ultimate baking bible for your kitchen shelves.”

On a recent episode of the Hairy Bikers – Agony Uncles podcast, Barrow-born Dave joked about his and his co-star’s appearance on the front cover of the new book.

“I’ve suddenly realised though, it looks like, our picture on the front, it’s brilliant bakes as written by William Shakespeare and Kenny Rogers,” said Dave.

Agreeing with Myers, Si said: “It’s true isn’t it, what happens to our heads?

“Honestly, I’m sure the publishers do something to our heads. It’s ridiculous!”

Podcast regular ‘Posh Tash’ disagreed with the Bikers, calling the pictures ‘gorgeous’. She said: “It’s a lovely photo, they’re really good photos in that book – beautiful.

“The photos of the food and you guys are gorgeous in that book, they really are but that is a very good comment Dave, I love that comment.”

Brilliant Bakes was released on October 13 and is available to buy now from retailers such as Amazon, Waterstones and Bookshop.org.
