The General Burgoyne in Urswick issued a statement online revealing that the site is now closed.
Bosses said: "The General Burgoyne is now closed with immediate effect. A statement will follow in the coming days."

The youngster decided to take on the challenge because he refused to see the business “join the worryingly long list” of pubs closing down in the area.
