THE Wainwright Society has offered a glimpse of what pictures will be in their new calendar.

The Society publishes a calendar every year to raise money for a charitable cause that Alfred Wainwright was interested in.

This year, all profits from the sale of the 2023 Calendar will be donated to Animal Rescue Cumbria (ARC).

Wainwright was famously fond of animals, it was claimed that he often preferred them to people.

After he retired, he donated most of the royalties from his books to the ARC, and this meant that they had enough money to purchase a site at Grayrigg to re-home cats.

Eric Robson, the chairman of The Wainwright Society said: “The Society has had a very close relationship with Animal Rescue Cumbria, and we aim to raise as much money as we can for ARC for its 50th Anniversary. Do help our fund-raising by buying our 2023 Calendar, all profits go to a very good cause”
