A WALK to raise money for CancerCare will take place this weekend.
The Piel Island walk involves walking from Walney at low tide, around the island, and then back again. It takes place on Sunday August 21 at 11am starting at Snab Point.
The walks will be guided by John Murphy who 'will be on hand with anecdotes aplenty from the wealth of wildlife on show to the rich history of the castle.'
The tour will include a visit to the famous pub The Ship Inn on the island.
Piel Island is only accessible by walking at certain points in the day. Markers are put out to make sure that hikers do not wander into deep sand. Although it is possible to do the walk on your own, it is safer to do it with a guide.
The walks will raise money for CancerCare, a charity that provides support for those suffering from cancer.
