HERE are some of the most popular parks in Barrow, Kendal and Ulverston.

Do you enjoy a gentle walk in the park on a Sunday? Here are some places you can try.

Ford Park

Ulverston's public park offers many gentle and enjoyable walks for families and residents who are looking to unwind from a long week.

Jay Bee said: "Nice walk to the top to see the monument, lots of seating on the way up a little steep in areas there is another way up at the back, open at weekends or if you see the flag flying, beautiful views from the top."

Abbot Hall Park Playground

Kendal's adorable little playground for children can offer a fun afternoon for couples with children in the town.

Stephen Wiles said: "I stopped in Kendal just for the afternoon and found this wonderful playground for my kids to enjoy. Located right next to the river, it has equipment for the littlest through to older children. The play area just a few minutes from the main high Street. A small car park is located next to the park."

Barrow Park

The 45-acre public park is located in the Parkside ward, to which the park lends its name, by Abbey Road and Park Avenue.

One reviewer said: "Very beautiful, many beautiful flowers and birds. Best place for families."

The Mini Ramp

Windermere's Mini Ramp is the perfect skate park for skate boarders, and roller skaters who are looking for a place to have fun.

Mark Smith said: "Great pump track and mini skate park, gets very busy around 4pm."

Vickerstown Park

Another park in the Barrow area near Walney has proven popular with locals, especially those with children.

Hermione Kitty said: "My son loves this park, one of his favourites in the area. good for toddlers and older kids as there's a mixture of things to play on. Close to pub and carvery and a few minutes’ drive or cycle from nice beaches if you want to have a day out in the sunshine on Walney."
