A HOSPICE home care team has been given new vehicles at 'cost price' allowing the hospice to focus funds on 'what matters most'.

St Mary's Hospice in Ulverston has said a 'huge thank you' to Furness Park Prestige for supplying two fantastic new cars for our Hospice at Home team.

They sourced and supplied the cars at cost price, meaning more of our funds can be focused on what matters most.

A spokesperson for St Mary’s Hospice said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Furness Park Prestige and Sport for supplying two fantastic new cars for our Hospice at Home team.

"They sourced and supplied the cars at cost price, meaning more of our funds can be focused on what matters most - delivering care to those who need it at the hospice and in our communities.”

"St Mary’s Hospice at Home service: Choice is really important at the end of life. Many people want to be cared for in their own home and St Mary’s Hospice at Home service makes this possible by providing expert care and support to patients and those important to them across South Lakes, Furness and Millom areas.

"St Mary’s Hospice’s services are always free, but we only get approx. 22% of our costs funded by the government – the rest we have to raise ourselves. This service simply wouldn’t exist without the support of our community and help from businesses including furness park:

"We needed reliable, efficient, quality cars that our team could use every day and evening, potentially driving hundreds of miles each week covering our catchment area delivering care, and with the help of Furness Park we have achieved that. Thank you."
