RESIDENTS have rallied around a binman after a video was posted to a social media platform purportedly showing a him relieving himself in a front garden.

The video, which shows a man walking over a patch of grass before looking over his shoulder, approaching a corner fence and appearing to urinate, is being investigated by bosses at the company which runs Barrow's bin services.

The FCC have said that they are 'currently investigating these incidents and will take appropriate measures'.

Many residents took to social media to show their support for the binman, with one resident saying 'you gotta go you gotta go'.

Jane Gokce said: "I often give the bin men drinks and I would certainly let them use my toilet if needed."

Jeanette Henry said: "I give mine ice blocks or cold drinks in this weather and if they need loo let them use yours. Poor guys need to pee and what if he has a bladder problem."

Claire Hill said: "Give the lad a break. If he had to go he had to go. Wonder if it would be put on Twitter if a dog was caught urinating on the fence."

Kev Fox said: "I was a bin man and I've been caught short many times. You gotta go you gotta go. It's not like you can either hold it or detour off route to find a toilet.

"In the old style wagons, you could climb in the back and go at the back of the compacter but don't think the new ones are that accessible."

Susan Doak said: "Bring public toilets back these lads are out all day if you need to, you need to go."

Diane Hardy said: "My husband has the same problem being a wagon driver. Not many toilets on his run."
