The Lion's Mane Jellyfish has long flowing tentacles that are up to three metres in length.
The Wildlife Trusts recommend consulting a doctor if 'swelling or weals are severe' after being stung by one.
Lion's Mane Jellyfish are confined to the cold, boreal waters of the Arctic, northern Atlantic, and northern Pacific Oceans.
It is common in the English Channel, the Irish Sea and the North Sea.
