ULVERSTON Business Improvement Development (BID) is one of the finalists in this year's Britain in Bloom.
Britain in Bloom returned after two years with 46 community gardening groups including Ulverston BID looking to impress the judges.
The finalists will be judged according to environmental criteria that consider sustainability issues and implement plant-friendly gardening techniques.
Britain in Bloom judges will visit each of the finalists in summer with the winners of each category announced at an awards ceremony in the autumn.
The Ulverston BID team is now looking for volunteers to help brush up and plant gardens around the town.
This will include clearing weeds, general tidying and additional planters and flowers before the judges come.
Britain in Bloom is the annual event run by The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS).
Famously, the RHS runs the Chelsea Flower Show. One of the displays from this year's show has been transferred to Mind in Furness.
