Anna Shaw said: "I didn't have a clue where I was in the race, I didn't expect to be anywhere near the top 10.

"I'm almost as surprised that I not only came third but that I got 14th overall."

Anna competed in the sprint distance and finished in 1 hour, 27 minutes, and 56 seconds after swimming in Ullswater, biking around the fells, and then running round the shore of Ullswater.

"I started cycling about seven years ago. My stepdad got me inspired.

"I built myself right from the bottom, and my love for cycling grew. I am the kind of person to give one hundred per cent all the time."
