A MASSIVE relay will be making its way through Cumbria this week as part of a national fundraising campaign run by relayriders.co.uk.

On Friday relay riders will be riding through Cumbria with this year's teddy bear mascot called Robbie.

Each year the relay chooses a charity to raise money for - this year they have chosen Mental Health Research UK.

Each rider pays a donation and is allocated a leg of the relay - which is about an hour's ride.

Robbie will be travelling 24 hours a day for 12 days, covering the whole of the UK mainland.

The mascot will be visiting Maryport Lighthouse at 7am, Whitehaven McDonald's at 8am, Bridge Cafe at Millom at 9.35am, Morrisons at Barrow at 11.10am and Asda Kendal at 12.45pm.

Robbie will then carry on through Lancashire, Yorkshire and Derbyshire before reaching his final destination of Squires Cafe Bar near Leeds at 12.45pm on July 2, having traveled over 6,000 miles and raised several thousand pounds.

You can donate to the cause through the relayriders website.
