Building on the roaring success of previous Dino Day events, Lancaster BID proudly presents Lancaster Dino Fest 2022 on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th July.

Poised to be bigger and better than ever spanning over two days, Dino Fest will feature realistic Dinosaurs roaming freely around Lancaster city centre, baby Dino puppet meet and greets, fairground rides and face-painting, as well as a soft play area and collaborations with Lancaster City Museums to provide a plethora of palaeontology pursuits for little ones.

New for 2022, this years’ event also features fun educational talks from renowned palaeontologist, author, TV presenter and co-lead excavator of the giant Rutland Icthyosaur, Dr Dean Lomax, and Dino expert Dr Jeremy Lockwood at The Storey, real fossil exhibits courtesy of Dinosaur Isle Museum of the Isle of Wight at Lancaster City Museum, walking tours visiting the history of Sir Richard Owen and hands-on Dino Fossil Dig activity for your junior Jurassic enthusiasts.

Kindly sponsored by Stagecoach and supported by funding awarded by The Royal Society, Lancaster Dino Fest 2022 promises to be a memorable, educational and entertaining event for all the family.

With Dino Poo and Gloop activities at The Judges Lodgings, The Dukes cinema showings of ‘The Land Before Time’ and local businesses offering Dino themed goodies, the city centre is primed to come alive for this flag-ship event, sure to put Lancaster - home of Sir Richard Owen, the renowned palaeontologist who coined the term ‘Dinosauria’ - on the map as a Dino destination.’
