A NEWLY-LAUNCHED service which helps prevent food waste while supporting some of the most vulnerable in the community has been praised following an inspection.

Ormsgill Community Fridge was given a score of five out of five after it was visited by food hygiene inspectors on June 22.

The service was set up by community group Ormsgill Stronger Together earlier this year to prevent food waste and support the area.
