IF YOU are looking for some plans to keep entertained over the next week, look no further as we have rounded up the events taking place across South Lakeland.

1. Henning Wehn

Head down to Kendal Leisure Centre, on Saturday, July 2 for Henning Wehn. Watch German Comedy Ambassador Henning Wehn give everything a good rinse and witness him wring sense out of the nonsensical. 

This show is part of his 'It'll All Come Out In The Wash' tour. Wehn's act plays upon the prevailing post-war stereotype of Germans; a large part of his routine is based around comprehensively analyzing and explaining his punchlines and jokes in the smallest detail. 

2. Lakeland Historic Car Club 

On Saturday, July 2 head down to the Lakeland Motor Museum for its monthly meeting. 

Everyone is welcome to attend whether you're an owner, enthusiast or just keen to see some great examples of some classic local cars.

The club roughly arrives at the museum around 10am and leaves after lunch around 12.30pm.

3. Kendal Museum Entry

Tickets are now available for entry at the Kendal Museum, this weekend timeslots can be booked throughout the day. 

Adult tickets cost £5, children's tickets cost £2 and under-fives go for free.

4. Summer Litter pick and Chat

On Sunday, July 3 head down to Hallgarth Community Centre in Kendal for a litter pick and chat supporting the community. 

Litterpickers and refreshments provided.

5. South Lakeland Zoo entry

Over the weekend head down to South Lakeland Zoo. The Zoo is home to over 1,000 of the rarest and most endangered animals in unique natural environments which enable you to learn about the animals on show.

Tickets for adults are £19.99, children go for £15.99 and under-fives go free.

6. Street Market

This weekend, you can head down to the Ulverston street market and grab yourself some bargains and support independent local businesses. The market takes place every Thursday and Saturday.

7. Mountain and Wainwright Walks

This weekend join The Lakes Mountaineer for walks up the Wainwrights guided by a qualified Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor and local guide.

Tickets are available for £145 per day for up to two people, then add £25. The location can be anywhere across the Lake District to suit you.

8. Northern Potters Association Summer Exhibition

This summer in their first major exhibition since the start of the pandemic, members of the Northern Potters Association will be presenting their recent work in the stunning surroundings of South Cumbria, Hare Hill Barn, LA11 6NZ.

Participating in this open exhibition are Chris Barnes, Martine Becquet, Rachel Brennan, Jennifer Bulman, Lara Clahane, Penny Henderson, Joseph Lenartowicz, Bob Park, Deborah Robinson, Kathryn Stevens, Thora Talling and Vicky Yates. 

9. Gan Yam Brewery Tap

On Saturday, July 2 head down to Gan Yam, which is a new brewery set up and run by 7 friends all originally from Kendal. 

We hold monthly tap events on the first weekend of each month, open Fri 4pm – midnight, Sat 2pm – midnight and Sunday 2pm – 8pm. At each event we will have some of the best local food on offer.

The brewery will be open serving a full range of our beer with other drinks on offer as well.

10. Dovetailing

Head down to the Windermere Jetty Museum for an immersive installation composed of suspended sculptural works, alongside film and sound, to create a multi-sensory experience.

Sculptor Juliet Gutch has responded to the shapes and forms of stringed instruments with a series of suspended wooden mobiles.

The exhibition is open between 10am and 5pm and tickets are free.
