AN earthquake was recorded in an area of Furness.
The tremor took place at Rampside on Monday.
According to the British Geological Survey, which records earthquakes, it had a magnitude of 1.2.
It occurred just before 7am.
The BGS said it happened at a depth of 2km.
A tremor similar in magnitude was recorded at the same site last month.
The 1.2 magnitude earthquake was said to have occurred just after 8pm on May 22.
It was also at depth of 2km.
More than 200 earthquakes are recorded each year in the UK according to the BGS.
