AN ANNUAL event will celebrate Charter Weekend, when Henry III gave John de Hudleston permission to hold a weekly market and a weekend fair on Holy Trinity weekend.

Millom and District Local History Society are helping Holy Trinity Church celebrate the 771st anniversary.

It will kick off on June 10 with Charter Lunch, including a reading of the 1251 Charter, at 12pm.

At 7pm, Rev. Robert Bracegirdle will give a talk entitled Medieval Millom: Good Church Goers?

On June 11, from 10am-2pm there will be an arts and crafts fair. There will be live music from 12.30pm with Dave and Friends.

Holy Trinity Stones project will be taking place from 10am on the outside of Holy Trinity Church. A group of volunteers will be conducting a survey of the outside stones.

From 12pm Josh Carr will be talking about metal detecting with practical demonstrations in the field.

For Trinity Sunday, there will be Holy Communion at 10.30am and at 2pm Jonathan Powell will be giving a talk: Wordsworth, Myers and Millom.
