A COUNCIL has issued a warning after unauthorised metal detecting took place at Millom Park.
Millom Town Council has made the request that no further metal detecting take place in the area.
The warning reads: “It has come to the attention of the Town Council that persons have been metal detecting in the Millom Park areas and that holes have been dug and not been replaced.
“No consent has been given to any persons to carry out these operations. The Town Council would request that no further metal detecting continues in the park but if this notice is ignored further action will be taken.
“I would stress anyone considering such activity must first obtain explicit approval from the Town Council and in the event of anything being found after such activity actual ownership would need to be established.”
