BARROVIANS enjoyed a prehistoric phenomenon in Barrow at the weekend.

Businesses did a roaring trade and families enjoyed a rare experience as Europe's biggest T-Rex and a host of his friends rampaged around the town as part of Barrow BID’s Dino Day on Saturday.

Zeus the T-Rex and Tank the Triceratops appeared on the Ørsted sponsored main arena outside the Town Hall, with Ritchie the Raptor and Spence the Spinosaurus entertaining crowds through the town centre to Dalton Road.

Ken Nat Garratt said: “It was a good day for the kids shame more stores didn’t try to capitalise on Dino Day with more dino themed things we didn’t even manage to get a balloon

“It might have been better if we didn’t have to go back and forth it working in a circle would have been better.”

Joan Medhurst said: “Brilliant little man really enjoyed it.”

Sarah Martakies said: “I didn't see any dinosaurs because I was working, but it definitely brought the people to Barrow town centre, busy day.”

Anne Walker said: “Looks like a brilliant day was had by all.”

Caz Adams said: “It was a brilliant day thanks to everyone who helped organise it.”

Andy Dufrane said: “Perfect day for our prehistoric town centre. Well done to those involved. The town needs events like these.”
