DALTON is preparing for their upcoming Jubilee Street Party to celebrate the Queen’s 70th year on the throne.
Scheduled for June 4, the Newton Town Council, Dalton Arts Culture and Heritage and friends of Dalton Castle are organising a street party in the town aimed at bringing out the whole community for the occasion.
Held in the Market Place from 2pm until 5pm, the day will feature a 1950s theme and a range of activities.
There will be music, games, refreshments, and stalls along the streets, and the Town Band will also be playing.
Local talent Becki Fishwick will also be performing, as well the Elite Dance School jiving, Iain McNicol and a street organ playing.
The castle will be open and the church providing drinks.
Pete Thompson will finish off the afternoon leading community singing.
There will also be old fashioned games, art workshops, and face painting for kids.
