THE chief constable of Cumbria Police paid a visit to Barrow Police Station to learn about the ongoing work in the community.

Cumbria Police Chief Constable Michelle Skeer made a trip to Barrow to meet some of the force's partner ages, explore the town centre and visit the police station.

PS John Dilks, PC Emmie Doughty and PCSO Joe Ward first accompanied Mrs Skeer to the Town Hall to meet some of the partners whom police will soon be co-locating with, including the housing, enforcement and the safer, stronger teams.

Following this, the officers proceeded to Barrow town centre and on to Portland Walk.

Mrs Skeer was updated regards the current problems that the community face in this area, and also what the community team are doing to resolve these issues.

Finally, the team headed back to the station and discussed the community policing in general going forward in Barrow and Furness, and took the opportunity to engage with the public who stopped to chat.

Mrs Skeer enjoyed her visit to Barrow and was pleased with the work Barrow Neighbourhood Policing Team are doing in the community.
