DO you know an individual or an organisation that has supported someone with their mental health?

Has a colleague, friend or a member of your family helped someone through a difficult time or gone above and beyond to raise funds for a mental health charity?

If so, there is a way you can show your gratitude and gain the recognition they deserve.

The Mail and Westmorland Gazette have launched a new partnership with Kimberly-Clark as part of a mental health awareness campaign.

The Mental Health Matters campaign aims to shine a spotlight on the incredible work people to do to help others’ mental health in the community.

It will also stress the importance of speaking out and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health. As part of this campaign, readers can nominate their friends, family and co-workers for a Special Recognition Award.

In partnership with Kimberly-Clark, we will also be releasing a video docu-series, starting on May 10, which champions the services of charities including Every Life Matters, Age UK and SAFA and Mind-in-Furness.

Each week for four weeks, videos will be released which shine a light on the services and help these important charities provide for our community.

This may include spreading awareness of mental health, helping someone through a hard time or helping break the stigma around speaking out.

The campaign will also run alongside Mental Health Awareness Week which takes place from Monday May 9 until Sunday May 15.

The week is an opportunity for people to talk about all aspects of mental health, with a focus on providing help and advice.

A spokeswoman for Kimberly-Clark said the health and wellbeing of people is at the ‘heart of everything’ they do.

She said: “Kimberly-Clark is home to some of the world’s favourite personal care brands, including Kleenex, Andrex and Huggies.

“At Kimberly-Clark the health and wellbeing of our people is at the heart of everything we do. We care for our people, our customers and our communities where we live and work and strive to deliver on our purpose of Better Care for a Better World.

“We are excited to partner with Newsquest for Mental Health Awareness week and look forward to supporting the campaign and upcoming docu-series.”
