A POPULAR folk band has backed up Barrow on social media ahead of their show in the town.

The Lancashire Hotpots, who are due to perform at The Forum this Saturday on their 'Chips and Giggles' tour, bigged Barrow up in response to a critical comment.

In response to their promotion of the event, Twitter user Michael Pattison said: "Are you being punished for something? No-one willingly goes to Barrow!"

But The Hotpots were quick to counter this suggestion.

In a reply, they said: "Never had anything less than a great time in Barrow," alongside a GIF which said 'life's what you make it'.

The lads are heading back to Barrow with their ‘Chips & Giggles’ tour, a theatre show filled to the brim with toe-tapping songs and good times that only the Hotpots can provide.

Lead singer Bernard Thresher previously said: “We have waited a good few years to get back to Barrow but it’s finally here. We can’t wait to get on that stage and give everyone a cracking night.”

The Lancashire Hotpots are returning to Barrow, playing at The Forum on Saturday, April 9.
