MUSICIAN Jess Gilliam will be returning to the county with pianist James Baillieu.

In addition to solo recitals, Jess continues to perform alongside other instrumentalists including pianist James Baillieu who will be joined by James when she performs at The Coro, Ulverston on March 12, 2022.

James Baillieu will also be joining Jess for performances at SJE Arts in Oxford, Painswick Music Society and Perth Concert Hall.

The event was announced alongside the news that Jess will be making her debut performance with London Philharmonic, Philharmonia and Munich Philharmonic orchestras.

Born in Ulverston, Cumbria Jess Gillam is animating the music world with her outstanding talent and infectious personality.

Jess is the first saxophonist to reach the finals of BBC Young Musician and the youngest ever soloist to perform at the Last Night of the Proms.

In the UK Jess will travel across the country performing both in duo and trio recitals, alongside some of the UK’s leading orchestras and chamber ensembles, and with her newly-formed Jess Gillam Ensemble.

In its 50th anniversary year, Jess joins Manchester Camerata as Resident Artist for four special performances in The Coro in Jess’ home town of Ulverston, Cumbria on September, 17. The onto Manchester’s Stoller Hall, Wigmore Hall in London, and King George’s Hall in Blackburn.

The Wigmore Hall concert forms part of Jess’ current residency at the iconic venue which will also see her perform with the Jess Gillam Ensemble on 2 June following the inaugural Jess Gillam Ensemble Tour in venues across England last summer

Jess continues to be a passionate advocate of music education and on 6 March will join the National Children’s Orchestras of Great Britain as part of its NCO Projects Programme whilst off the concert platform she continues to present her ARIA-winning weekly BBC Radio 3 show and podcast, This Classical Life.

Jess also continues to curate her own concert series bringing international talent to her hometown of Ulverston in 2022 with upcoming concerts including a recital with pianist James Baillieu on 12 March and performances with Manchester Camerata and the Jess Gillam Ensemble later in the year.
