A TV and radio host is gearing up to give Barrovians 'the best night they've had in a long time'.

Ryan Swain will be bringing big anthems and a touch of MCing to Apollo Bingo when he hosts and plays a DJ set for No Limits Bingo.

The show will be happening on February 19, with doors opening at 8.30pm - and organisers say there's something for everyone.

"When you say Bingo, a lot of people expect it to be Granny's, but in fact it's quite the opposite.

"You get a bit of everything in there, you get music and rave, a bit of comedy and light entertainment, prizes, there's a DJ, and even a boyband at some of them.

"There's something for everybody there."

The crazy bingo event, which sees prizes such as cardboard cut outs of celebrities, pioneered in Barrow.

"I like Barrow, it's cool. It seems to have taken off really well," said Ryan.

"I feel there's a generation at the moment, a younger generation in particular, that are dipping back in to 90s and noughties culture, from fashion to music, and they are idolising people who were big back then because they haven't really got anything of their own.

"It appeals to all age groups, you've got the people that were there the first time round, then there's a whole new gen that are getting involved and I think it's really cool."

Ryan is hoping to bring positivity after a tough couple of years for people, even giving everyone at a previous No Limits Bingo event free tickets to his upcoming show.

He said: "I feel like the pandemic has hit not just the music industry, but the whole arts and entertainment industry massively.

"It has hit everybody in a different way and I feel 2022 is when people are looking for positivity and for something to go to and let their hair down.

"My event from start to finish will be non stop euphoria, it's all about the good vibes and good energy.

"People will have the best night that they've had in a long time."
