PLANS for a new inclusive playground at a park are a step closer to becoming a reality.

Plans for a playground in Ford Park, Ulverston, which is being funded by a £100,000 grant from FCC Communities Foundation and a generous contribution from Coordination Group Publication (CGP) Ltd, will provide inclusive play equipment for all children, including opportunities for toddlers too.

Work began on Friday (January 28) to remove the existing playground and the team at charity-run Ford Park are looking forward to seeing the transformation and the huge difference a new playground will make to local families and children.

Jill Salmon, Chief Executive at Ford Park Community Group, said: “We are delighted to be working with local company Playdale to help us realise this exciting new project to provide an inclusive play environment for the community.”

Shirley-Anne Wilson, Chair of Trustees, said: “We are very excited and grateful for this funding to provide an inclusive playground for all children to enjoy.

"We look forward to welcoming families to our wonderful green space.

"And it’s particularly pleasing that a local company is carrying out the work.”
