A BOOK showcasing the beauty of our county is to be released.
Extreme Lakeland, by Nadir Khan and Tom McNally, have been building up a bank of photography since 2017, alongside accompanying essays and text.
Tom McNally said: "Part of the thrust of Extreme Lakeland was to showcase the under-the-radar activities which go on in the region.
"There are some extremely talented athletes, world class climbers, paddlers and other outdoor activities which take place on our doorstep."
The book consists of both candid shots and 'set pieces'.
One photo, of dancer Eliza Sandford on Napes Needle, was taken by Mr McNally suspended from another rock that he was climbing in order to get the perfect angle.
This is what makes the book unique, he says.
He finished: "It’s really nice to finally hold a copy - it’s most certainly been a labour of love.
"It's not a commercial project, neither of us are in it for the money; it’s so nice to see all of that hard work come to fruition."
The book is currenly available online and in big bookshops, with smaller ones soon to get stock.
