MOUNTAIN rescue teams were called out recently after a walker suffered an ankle injury on the summit of Great Gable.
As many as 20 Wasdale MRT team members were called out as well as Maritime and Coastguard Agency Rescue and the Keswick Mountain Rescue Team.
The call out came at 1.37pm on November and they were out for just over two hours dealing with the incident.
A spokesman fro Wasdale Mountain Rescue said: "A walker sustained an ankle injury on the summit of Great Gable.
"Due to the risk of team members being injured because of the high winds, a coastguard helicopter was requested.
"We are very thankful that they attended, and took the casualty to hospital. Our team members did not need to go on the high fell and returned intact!
"The two friends of the casualty were taken to Borrowdale by helicopter and met by a Keswick team member, thanks to them for this."
