A SOUTH Cumbrian town received a mention on University Challenge on Monday evening.
Barrow popped up as an answer on the popular BBC quiz show hosted by Jeremy Paxman.
The episode saw St Hilda's College at the University of Oxford take on Trinity College at the University of Cambridge.
The question was: "What six-letter word links the second longest river in Ireland, an ancient burial mound, Bonnie Parker's partner in crime..."
At this point, a member of St Hilda's College buzzed in and answered 'Clyde' but lost his team five points for answering incorrectly before the end of the question.
Paxman then finished the question, saying: "...and an industrial town on the Furness Peninsula in south Cumbria?"
Trinity then buzzed in and answered 'Barrow' correctly.
