RESIDENTS from a care home get into the festive spirit early and create Christmas cards for a competition.
Elmhurst residential care home residents get creative and make Christmas cards for the Ulverston Isolation group’s Christmas card competition.
The competition is for people to design a Christmas card which will be distributed out in the local communities to people who are living in their own homes alongside the Christmas dinners which are being provided to the local community.
Karen Shepherd, Registered Manager of Elmhurst said: “Ulverston isolation group have been a fantastic link for us in the local community especially while covid restrictions have been in place and we have been limited as to the amount of face to face activities we can take part in.
“We feel it’s important to remain part of the local community and the residents had so much fun and laughs designing the cards. Lots of memories were discussed and lots of happy reminiscing took place as well as the actual craft work.
"Joining in with something like this promotes dexterity and helps people keep skills and feel valued.”
