FOLLOWING a successful lecture on MV Swift, Barrow and District Association of Engineers (BDAE) continue their autumn series with a talk from Fred Eastham of BAE Systems on “Flight Test Instrumentation and Telemetry”.

As aircraft have increased in complexity, the need for accurate data has become more important. Whilst computer simulation has improved dramatically there is still a need to record and monitor the actual performance. How this is achieved is the subject of the lecture.

Fred Eastham, IET - Local Network Chairman, has worked at BAE Systems for over thirty years - most of which as an Instrumentation Engineer within the FTI department at Warton aerodrome, Preston.

Anne Morris, a BDAE Council Member, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Fred to our October lecture. This is a fascinating subject to all engineers engaged in design and build of highly technical projects. As we heard from our September lecture there is risk in computer simulation which the full-scale trials remain to prove. I am sure the lecture, from an expert in computing design and instrumentation, will be enjoyable and interesting.”

The talk will take place at 7.30pm tonight in the Studio at The Forum in Barrow in Furness. The talk is free and available to all. Visit: www.bdae.co.uk
