NURSERY staff and babies celebrate a whole year of their baby room in style.

Staff at Ramsden Robin Pre-School nursery situated on Thwaite Street, Barrow held a big birthday bash for the little ones as they help celebrate the baby rooms first birthday.

The staff in the baby room, also known as ‘The nest’ helps babies from 3 months up to two years grow, working on their confidence in speech and movement, physical ability and their relationship with peers.

To celebrate the successful year the team decorated the room with banners and balloons, played party games with the youngsters, had a birthday feast and the babies all came in their best dress attire and wore party hats.

Chantelle Salmon, 25 who is Deputy manger at the pre-school and primarily works with the babies alongside early years practitioner, Olivia Pattinson, 22 said they love their job seeing the little ones grow every day.

Olivia said: “We help nurture the children and help them grow up.

“It’s an amazing feeling to see the children grow up and become little people, it’s really heart-warming.

“The transition for the children is really good, everyone over the past 12 months have followed onto the nursery, it gives them an opportunity to meet staff and feel comfortable.”

The pair are hoping to create more community involvement in the future with the likes of St Mark’s Church and St George’s home once covid has eased.

Chantelle said: “It’s been a beautiful year; I love my job and can’t wait to make more memories with them.”

The nursery decided to set up the nest as they saw there was a demand for it in the community.

Manger of Ramsden Robins pre-school nursery, Clare Johnson said: “We had been asked by a few parents if we had prevision for babies, but at the time we were only a 2-4 year nursery.

“We knew from other nurseries that there was a demand for it as they had a waiting lists so we decided to offer the service to the community with high quality services but at a reasonable price.

The nest has been popular in it’s first year and is now almost full with some remaining January 2022 places.
